MONTRÉAL, Sept. 18, 2026 /CNW/ — Marking a record-breaking year on all fronts, ALL IN wrapped up its fourth edition yesterday in Montréal following two days of high-level conferences, hands-on workshops, and major announcements shaping the future of AI and tech in Canada and beyond.

Setting new attendance records, ALL IN welcomed 10,000 global AI leaders from 50 countries to advance AI security, explore real-world case studies, build international partnerships, and accelerate Canada’s economic vision. Bringing together thousands of companies across key Canadian sectors, including healthcare, energy, aerospace, and manufacturing, alongside the country’s leading tech providers, as well as Canada’s top 100 AI startups, investors, and government representatives, the flagship event closed on a high note as organizers turn their sights to a celebratory fifth edition in 2027.

ALL IN reaffirmed its status as Canada’s premier AI showcase, consistently maintaining a 50/50 split between AI solution providers and enterprise adopters. This balance directly accelerates the commercial adoption of ready-to-deploy homegrown AI.

“Now more than ever, hosting a global event like ALL IN is essential to bringing together thousands of Canadian and international leaders around the critical issues driving this technological revolution,” said Isabelle Turcotte, Co-Founder and CEO of ALL IN. “ALL IN has proven once again to be a launchpad for historic announcements, major commercial deals, and key partnerships across business, the public sector and research.”

Canada’s Leadership at Home and Abroad

The ALL IN 2026 program delivered a powerful mix of Canadian tech leaders and global executives from companies dominating the international market. Together, they tackled the defining issues of AI and tech, from building critical compute infrastructure and fostering public trust, to advancing more responsible open-source alternatives and forming global alliances that pave new paths beyond traditional market dominance. Sessions sparked important industry and policy discussions across emerging frontiers, including agentic AI, world models, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.

Featured speakers included Chris Arsenault (Inovia Capital), Yoshua Bengio (LawZero), Mirko Bibic (Bell Canada), Victor G. Dodig (TELUS), Tulsee Doshi (Google DeepMind), Liam Fedus (Periodic Labs), Amandeep Singh Gill (United Nations), Aidan Gomez (Cohere), Marjorie Janiewicz (Mistral), Raffi Krikorian (Mozilla), Hugo Larochelle (Mila), George Osborne (OpenAI), Joelle Pineau (Cohere), Taimur Rashid (Amazon Web Services), Calista Redmond (NVIDIA), Samuel Weinbach (Aleph Alpha), Michael Serbinis (League) and Louis Têtu (Coveo).

Coming just months after the launch of Canada’s new national AI strategy, strong federal, provincial and municipal government participation underscored that AI is now more than ever a top priority for public leaders. Among them: Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (Government of Canada); Jenna Sudds, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and to the Secretary of State (Government of Canada); Rachel Bendayan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister (Government of Canada); Nate Glubish, Minister of Technology and Innovation (Government of Alberta); Rick Glumac, Minister of State for AI and New Technologies (Government of British Columbia) and Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Mayor of Montréal.

With AI emerging as a strategic differentiator globally, ALL IN serves as Canada’s premier platform on the international stage. The event brought together global delegations from 50 nations, including senior government officials such as Omran Sharaf, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Sciences and Technology, alongside leaders from Brazil, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States.

Building on past recognitions of France (2024) and the United Arab Emirates (2025), ALL IN honoured Germany as the official 2026 Country of Honour. Karsten Wildberger, Minister for Digital Transformation and Government Modernization, led a delegation of more than 50 German executives to Montréal to forge new business partnerships and feature cutting-edge technologies at the official German Pavilion.

Headline Announcements for Safer, Sovereign AI

Over two days, ALL IN served as the launchpad for important industry announcements set to transform Canada’s economy:

As the risks of current AI trajectories become increasingly visible to the world, Yoshua Bengio’s non-profit organization, LawZero, secured $300M in joint funding from the governments of Canada and Germany to pioneer next-generation AI safety solutions.Accelerating its push to rival global AI giants, Cohere finalized its business combination agreement with Germany’s Aleph Alpha to become the first transatlantic sovereign AI solution, uniting over 1,000 employees across a dual-headquartered entity in Toronto and Berlin.Driving open-source AI development and adoption, Mila and Mozilla launched a new initiative backed by an initial $6M investment from Mozilla and Hypertec, alongside the Government of Canada, to build an open foundation layer empowering organizations to retain full control over their local AI systems and data.

ALL IN also brought back its signature reverse pitch competitions to source targeted AI solutions for pre-identified challenges, including two focused on municipal innovation. This year’s honours went to Scentroid for the Smart Cities AI Challenge with the City of Toronto, M2M Tech for the Reinventing Citizen Experience Challenge with the City of Montréal, and Gray Oncology Solutions for the AI for Real Impact Challenge in partnership with Germany’s Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation and the de:hub network.

The fifth edition of ALL IN will take place on September 22–23, 2027, in Montréal. Tickets are on presale now.

Arizona Voters Want Action, Not Just Words

New Arizona Voters’ Agenda research shows voters want clear answers, practical problem-solving, and action on their priorities

PHOENIX, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — With Arizona’s General Election approaching, new statewide research finds voters want more than candidates’ positioning on issues, they want to know what actions candidates will take on their highest priorities. They want to hear directly from the people asking to lead them about the solutions they would pursue and how they would make progress.

The latest 2026 Arizona Voters’ Agenda findings from Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) reinforce what CFA has heard consistently across years of statewide research and engagement with Arizonans. They care deeply about the state’s future, want leaders focused on the issues affecting their lives and communities, share more common ground than the political narrative, and value problem-solving, long-term thinking, and meaningful progress. The new findings show how those expectations are carrying into the 2026 election.

“Arizonans want to know what candidates will do about the issues that matter most to them and to Arizona’s future,” said Dr. Sybil Francis, Chair, President & CEO of Center for the Future of Arizona. “Voters have already given us a remarkably clear picture of the outcomes they want. They are looking for candidates who will engage those priorities directly, explain credible plans, and give Arizonans confidence that they can turn those plans into progress. That is an opportunity and a responsibility for anyone asking to lead in our state.”

Voters Place a Premium on Hearing Directly From Candidates
Ninety-three percent of Arizona voters say it is important to have opportunities to hear candidates directly answer questions about issues that matter to most voters, including 80% who say it is very important. The expectation is near-unanimous across political affiliations, with 94% of Republicans, 91% of independent and unaffiliated voters, and 94% of Democrats saying those opportunities are important.

The finding points to a clear need in the election conversation. Voters want candidates to directly address the issues that matter to them and explain what they would do. The Arizona Voters’ Agenda helps meet that need by identifying voters’ priorities and the questions they raise for candidates and leaders, keeping what voters want visible through the election and into governing.

The Newspaper That Helped Shape the Course of the Long March

Published

By

LANZHOU, China, Sept. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — During the Gansu leg of the “Together on the Long March” CICG International Communication Project, Liang Xiaoyuan, son of founding lieutenant general Liang Xingchu, visited the historic Long March sites in Hadapu and recalled a remarkable episode involving his father.

In Hadapu, Liang Xingchu was assigned by Mao Zedong to search for “spiritual nourishment”—newspapers and other sources of information. A copy of Ta Kung Pao obtained during the mission contained reports about the situation in northern Shaanxi, providing the Central Red Army with important information as it determined where to advance next.

That newspaper helped turn Hadapu, a small town in northwest China, into a key historical landmark on the road toward the Long March’s eventual destination.
