Swatten: Reliable Solar and Energy Storage Solutions for the African Market

Published

on

DAKAR, Senegal, June 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — With 16 years of experience in the African power sector, Swatten is accelerating the development of residential and C&I energy storage across Africa.

As a specialized brand of Sieyuan Electric dedicated to residential and C&I energy storage, Swatten brings to the African market the safety and reliability standards derived from the power grid industry.

Founded in 1993 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2004, Sieyuan Electric has been developing electrical technologies, energy equipment, and engineering services worldwide for more than thirty years. Drawing on its expertise in power generation, transmission, transformation, and distribution, the company has expanded its capabilities into energy storage through Swatten and its vision of “From Grid to Home.”

Today, Swatten offers a comprehensive portfolio including hybrid inverters, all-in-one solar-storage-charging systems, rack mounting batteries, stackable batteries, and EV chargers. Its solutions have already been deployed in Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In response to the continent’s energy challenges—including grid instability, high electricity costs, and growing demand for energy independence—Swatten develops solutions tailored to residential and C&I applications.

Its 13.99 kWh high-voltage battery system provides a high-performance alternative to traditional 14–16 kWh low-voltage systems. The 5.12 kWh stackable battery series offers great flexibility and, through parallel connection, can reach up to 204 kWh of storage capacity with a single inverter.

Swatten’s confidence in the potential of the African market is built on the strong experience of Sieyuan Electric. Since 2010, the company has completed 55 major energy projects across Africa, representing more than US$3.5 billion, covering power grids, substations, and large-scale energy systems.

Through its vision of “From Grid to Home,” Swatten brings the same standards of safety, reliability, and engineering excellence that have made Sieyuan successful in power infrastructure to African homes and businesses.

Over the next three years, Swatten aims to become one of the leading players in residential and C&I energy storage in Africa, while continuing to strengthen local partnerships through its product expertise, technical training, marketing support, and after-sales service.

Introducing ThinQ Claw and Expanded AI Home Experiences
Powered by Contextual Intelligence

News Summary

LG unveils the next evolution of AI Home at IFA 2026, leveraging upgraded contextual intelligence to recommend relevant actions, coordinate connected devices and services, and deliver a more personalized experience. The brand-new ThinQ Claw introduces text-chat-based interactions to AI Home, comprehending intent and context to provide tailored, situationally-appropriate support and enhanced customer value.Visitors to IFA can explore an expanded AI Home ecosystem spanning intelligent home and energy management solutions and learn about LG’s AI-powered ThinQ Pro for shared and commercial spaces, which is making its European debut.

SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling the next evolution of its AI Home at IFA 2026. Bringing together AI-powered appliances, connected services and contextual intelligence, LG AI Home simplifies daily routines, enhances convenience and delivers a more personalized and intuitive customer experience.

A Home That Understands You
LG AI Home analyzes schedules, routines, the home environment and appliance usage to recommend appropriate actions and optimize coordination between devices and services. By providing personalized suggestions based on real-world context, it proactively supports customers to spend less time managing their appliances and more time enjoying life. To illustrate this vision at IFA 2026, LG invites visitors to explore immersive AI Home spaces—spanning living, kitchen and rest zones—where they can experience firsthand how LG’s AI technologies coordinate devices and services around different everyday routines.

ThinQ Claw: Extending AI Home Through Chat and Contextual Intelligence
At IFA 2026, LG is introducing ThinQ Claw, a new text-chat-based AI agent experience that further enriches and expands the company’s AI Home offering. Built on the concept of OpenClaw and optimized specifically for LG AI Home, ThinQ Claw can understand user intent and context and help complete tasks by connecting and coordinating relevant services and devices.

ThinQ Claw interprets updates shared by the user within the context of their life, rather than as isolated events. This enables it to recommend (or help initiate) appropriate actions aligned with personal preferences and the unique demands of each situation. It can manage cooking appliances to help the user prepare for hosting guests, monitor indoor air quality and temperature before the user arrives home to create a more comfortable environment based on current conditions, or suggest tailored experiences to entertain, empower or relax.

Beyond appliance control, ThinQ Claw works collaboratively with daily services like calendars and other connected services. Instead of requiring complex automation rules, it allows users to share their plans or current status through a natural chat interface. In addition to being able to understand requests and determine the necessary steps, ThinQ Claw can remember customers’ likes and dislikes, leading to increasingly personalized experiences over time. This intelligent and context-aware agent expands how customers engage with AI Home by providing increasingly personalized support both inside and outside the home. ThinQ Claw will be demonstrated at LG’s AI Home Zone throughout IFA 2026.

An Expanded AI Home Ecosystem
The AI Home Zone highlights LG’s open AI Home ecosystem powered by Homey, a smart home platform developed by Athom, which LG acquired in 2024. With its broad interoperability across brands and connected devices, Homey enables a safe and reliable connected home experience.

Homey allows users to manage diverse products from different manufacturers and service providers in one place. Through a comprehensive Home Energy Management System (HEMS) demonstration, IFA visitors can observe how Homey intelligently orchestrates energy generation, storage and consumption in real time by connecting smart meters, solar panels, home batteries and EV chargers with LG appliances. HEMS can help reduce household electricity bills by optimizing when energy is generated, stored and consumed, while taking advantage of dynamic energy pricing where supported.*

IFA 2026 will also mark the European debut of LG ThinQ Pro. Designed for multi-family residential and commercial environments, ThinQ Pro supports the efficient management of devices and facilities while illustrating how LG’s AI Home vision extends beyond the home into shared and professional spaces.

Applied across the entirety of the AI Home ecosystem, the LG Shield security framework helps protect connected appliances, services and customer data, enabling safe and secure AI experiences.

“ThinQ Claw marks the next step in LG AI Home, illustrating how AI can understand customer intent and life context to support a more personalized and streamlined daily experience,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “LG will continue advancing AI Home through innovations that are increasingly intuitive and responsive to customers’ needs.”

* Results may vary depending on usage, energy tariffs and local conditions.

From expert keynotes and practical workshops to a hackathon, this year’s festival equips participants with practical insights to move from AI pilots to enterprise-grade deployment

SINGAPORE, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — NUS-ISS has launched the 11th edition of its flagship Learning Festival, a six-week series running from 28 August to 10 October 2026. Marking its second decade, this year’s festival, themed “The Next AI Transformation”, focuses on the key shift organisations must make from AI experimentation to measurable impact.

As enterprise AI adoption accelerates globally, the NUS-ISS Learning Festival 2026 provides a platform for practitioners, business leaders, professionals and organisations to explore AI-ready data foundations, responsible AI deployment, leadership transformation, workforce evolution and future skills development.

“As AI moves from experimentation into everyday operations, the challenge is no longer simply understanding what AI can do, but scaling it effectively and responsibly,” said Mr Khoong Chan Meng, Chief Executive Officer of NUS-ISS. “This year’s Learning Festival focuses on what matters next: strong data foundations, governance, workforce skills, and leadership.”

Participants can look forward to a dynamic lineup of activities, including talks, expert panels, hands-on workshops, and a hackathon designed to bring the NUS-ISS community together throughout the festival.

Key event highlights include:

Main festival opening (28 Aug)

NUS-ISS opens the festival with a full-day campus event featuring 28 sessions, including talks, panels, fireside chats, and workshops – for industry leaders, professionals and practitioners across the public and private sectors.

The agenda focuses on key organisational priorities, including governing autonomous AI agents, scaling AI impact, and building the enterprise architecture and data foundations needed to support AI adoption.

Experts from Alibaba Cloud Group, Nvidia Singapore, Salesforce, Visa, Grab and the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore will share hands-on AI strategies and best practices alongside NUS-ISS’ practice-based lecturers.

“Show Me Your Agents” hackathon – Powered by AWS (5 Sep and 10 Oct)

A new addition to this year’s Learning Festival, Show Me Your Agents is an open innovation competition that aims to bridge the gap between emerging AI technology and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore.

Hosted by NUS-ISS and powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the hackathon brings together students, professionals, startups and SMEs to design, build and present agentic AI solutions to real business challenges.

Competing in the SME and Public categories, teams will have five weeks to develop AI agent-powered solutions for administrative automation, customer service, supply chain operations, and more.

The teams will present their final solutions to a panel of judges at Demo Day on 10 October, vying for top honours and AWS cloud credits, alongside special awards recognising real-world readiness, agent design and social impact.

Demo Day will serve as a key culmination of the Learning Festival, bringing together participants to showcase their solutions and celebrate a season of learning, experimentation and innovation.

“AI won’t take your job. AI will change your organization.” (15 Sep)

In a collaboration with the IT Management Association (ITMA), Damien Cummings, Chief of AI Strategy and Organizational Transformation at NUS-ISS, will speak at a by-invitation session for ITMA members. He will explore why AI initiatives often stall because of organisational challenges rather than technical limitations, and how the role of the CIO is evolving as organisations navigate an increasingly AI-driven future.
